Habs für eine SSD gekauft. Super einfach zum zusammen bauen und verwenden. Der einzige (noch) Nachteil - mein Laptop hat nur einen USB c Anschluss. Also muss ich mich zwischen Laden und externen Festplatte entscheiden. Nur als kleiner Hinweis, falls andere das auch nicht bedenken. Aber kein Nachteil des Gehäuses an sich.

Over the years, having had several laptops which have been replaced, I always used to remove the HDD and ram before getting rid of the chassis. That way, if needed, I had parts I could take forward and retain my data. But I never used the ram, and rarely accessed the old data, leaving me with a growing collection of HDDs and ram that never got used.
Being that they're from old machines when HDDs used to cost more and 500 GB was massive at the time, I decided to compile all the data I wanted to keep from my old drives onto one 5 TB 2.5" which I'll use for cold storage and essentially giving me an air gap. Enter this enclosure.
The use of USB C is great as it means you don't need a second cable for power, the one it comes with is fine i suppose, but I have nicer ones which I prefer to use which are connected to my PC 24/7. Transfer speeds aren't terrible and when done you can simply eject the drive, disconnect and shove in a draw or storage tub and leave it until your next scheduled data dump. If your drive ever gets to the point of full, simply slide the shell apart, and replace the drive. All in all, I think it's a great easy to use and tool less enclosure which I can't realistically fault.
If I was to split hairs, the one thing I would point out is that the foam pads on the inside of the sleeve where the HDD sits makes the cavity very tight for the drive, won't hurt the drive, but makes it a bit awkward to remove the drive once seated. I got around this using a nylon spudger as a pry tool either side of the connection point and then, once sat far enough back, pry the front facing up using the same spudgers. Done! It's out. This might loosen over time if the foam is compacted with a drive being in there, but I doubt it will by much, as the drive isn't spinning up and warming/cooling frequently enough to really impact them.

I thought I probably should buy a more expensive case for my laptop drive- because you want speed and reliability.
Ugreen provided both for an outstanding low priced value.
The case fits in the palm of your hand- see the pictures. It's a simple slide off, slide on and has a satisfying soft click into place feel when you close it with a drive in it.
The interior of the case is plain, and ends at a SATA compatible connector. When you attach a USB 'C' cable to the case, and the other end to a computer the hard drive is powered, connected and ready. You can use a USB 'A' to USB 'C' cable, or straight C to C.
I've run SSD's and regular HD's in the case, and all perform flawlessly- and at speed! USB 3.1 gen 2 gives a great transfer rate. The case is also backward compatible if you need to use a USB 2.0 port.
Very handy for all purposes- HD copies, spare storage, or taking a hard drive on the road. And yes, I'm a bit clumsy and dropped it a few times with a drive in it. It absorbs a good deal of shock, and has kept my drives alive and humming.

Always a little worried about things working on a Mac. This was super easy to open. No screwdriver required. Popped in a spare WD SSD. Closed it and plugged it into a fairly recent MacBook. Bam! Drive mounted quickly and nice fast file transfers. I didn’t do any speed tests because I don’t care. But it worked well, that’s all I want.

I received this Hard Drive Enclosure very quick! Next day. Keep in mind this is a USB C to USB C connection. I needed a USB C to USB A 3.0 connector (which I already had) You will need this cable in order to connect this drive to your computer if it does not have a C port. Un ottimo case per rendere il mio SSD un hardi disk esterno per poter archiviare velocemente file di grandi dimensione e fare dei backup. L'unica cosa "negativa" e' forse che estrarre l'hard disk uuna volta attaccato risulta un po' difficoltoso, ma con un po' di attenzione e pazienza lo si fa. Tuttavia nel complesso un buon prodotto ad un buon prezzo

Seems about perfect. Just removed the HDD from the laptop, removed the plastic rails from it, and proceeded to figure out how to open this neat little case. It slides open. Slides all the way like a drawer. When paired with a quality short high speed usb-c cable data transfer speed seems really fast still- like it was still in the laptop. Can't ask for more, at least for my purposes.

Ottimo case esterno, acquistato uno da usare come HDD esterno per PS5 e ne ho acquistato anche un secondo per un HDD che uso per spostare/archiviare documenti del pc.
Comodi robusti e tengono saldo l’HDD al loro interno.

Das UGREEN Festplatten Gehäuse läuft sehr gut. Mit dem orginal Kabel sehr hohe Transferraten. Kein Vergleich zu den alten USB Anschlüssen. Habe eine SSD 1 TB von Samsung eingebaut. Passgenaues Gehäuse (Festplatte sitzt fest) ..... gutes Kabel .... was will man mehr. Ich hoffe es wird lange gut laufen.

Disclaimer: I tested 3 UGREEN enclosures, that differ just by some nuance of the body, trying to find the one that would let me *unplug* HDD without the tools. All in all, my review for them is the same, see below.
Pros:
- Top performance among the enclosures, (tested it with both SSD and HDD)
Cons:
- Plastic
- Really weird and cheap mounting solution: it's basically impossible to unplug the drive without tools - it sits too tight. I tested other brands' enclosures and none of them have this problem. It's really disappointing/the main reason for me to return it.
- Attracts fingerprints

Bueno, boy a ser sincero no se quien es capaz de fastidiar algo tan simple como un adaptador SATA a USB c con plastico alrededor, y francamente tenia problemas de como costaba ajustar la carcasa. Pero dicho todo esto los problemas desaparecen con el tiempo y si soy sincero no importan mucho. Esto no tiene porque ser un kit complejo, es facil y simple.

Conectado un SSD Sandisk de 480gb y lo reconoce a la primera, lo voy a utilizar como disco duro para un mini pc recién adquirido que por desgracia no permite añadir más discos a parte del M.2 que trae de serie. He instalado varios juegos en el y va perfectamente,si acaso me parece un poco caro para el producto que es, pero realmente funciona, cabe mencionar que solamente trae un cable usb-c a usb-c, hubiese estado bien que incluyese uno con salida usb 3.0

J'ai acheté 2 boitiers pour recycler des disques durs dans un tiroir !
Les boitiers sont nickels, hyper simple d'installer les disques durs à l'intérieur. De plus les boitiers sont dotés de bandes de mousses permettant de maintenir bien place les disques à l'intérieur.
Pratique : une led blanche sur le boitier témoigne du fonctionnement et des sollicitations du disque.
Testé sur MacBook Air m1, je recommande !

Unit works as described. Only had one issue, the first time attempting the remove the cover was difficult. Suspect because it was the first time being removed. Make sure when installing the drive that you push in all the way. Just took a little time in determining how to get the computer to recognize the drive. Overall, very pleased with the unit.

Ormai lo sto utilizzando da mesi e devo dire che mi sto trovando davvero bene. È un buon prodotto, io l’ho abbinato ad un disco tradizionale da 2TB che uso di backup e ho trasferimenti di media sempre sui 100 MB. Principalmente l’ho acquistato proprio per questo recuperare un vecchio supporto che avevo e trasformarlo in un HD esterno veloce per fare backup costanti e Time Machine su Mac, svolge egregiamente questo lavoro quindi non posso che consigliarlo. Se proprio devo trovare una sbavatura è sulla forma del case che essendo tondeggiante in entrambe le basi non poggia in piano quindi è un po’ ballerino.

Updated: The "3 min auto sleep" doesn't work. Capture the "power on" hours of the SSD inside with HWiNFO64 before and after lengthy idling of the system shows "power on" hours of the SSD is the same as the length of the system on. The LED on the case never go off during this period of time. It goes off when the system is un-pluged.
Got this enclosure to replace a malfunctioned enclosure for a SSD. Both Windows 10/11 recognize the SSD inside this enclosure. It is a good sign that TRIM should work thru this enclosure. The old one only recognize the SSD as Hard Disk Drive. The only concern is that this product (date first available July 8 2020) is using ASM1153E while another UGREEN enclosure (date first available July 30 2018) is using ASM235CM, which Compliant with newer standards. ex. ASM235CM Compliant with USB3.1 Specification Revision 1.0 and Serial ATA Specification Revision 3.2. ASM1135E Compliant with USB3.0 Specification Revision 1.0 and Serial ATA Specification Revision 3.0; how can this be USB 3.1 Type C Gen 2? Maybe I am missing something here. Not sure how to verify the 3 min auto sleep as SSD is pretty fast from wake up.
